Auction purchases, collected

Auction cars collected from any UK site and brought to your forecourt.

Bought at BCA, Manheim or another auction and need it home? Post the collection with the release details, get quotes from checked drivers, and pay once the car is on your forecourt.

What to include when you post an auction collection.

  • The auction site, the collection window and the site's contact details.
  • The release reference, or how the driver will receive it securely.
  • Whether keys, documents and charging cables should be released with the car.
  • Whether the car is a runner, so the right kind of driver quotes.
  • Your forecourt address and who will receive the car.

Post it, pick a driver, pay after delivery.

01

Post the run

Add the reg, where the car is, where it needs to go and when.

02

Compare quotes

Checked drivers send you a price. Choose on price, score and past runs.

03

Follow the car

The driver records the car's condition at collection, and you can follow the run and message them.

04

Confirm and pay

Confirm the handover with a code, then pay the driver. You get a condition report and an invoice.

Collect promptly, avoid storage charges.

Auction sites usually expect cars to be collected within a set time, and some charge for storage after that. Posting the run as soon as the sale is confirmed gives drivers time to quote and you time to choose.

For long runs, say whether the car is suitable to be driven the whole way. A transporter may suit non-runners, high-value stock or several cars from one sale better.

MotorRelay is independent and not connected to BCA, Manheim or any other auction company. You stay responsible for the auction's release rules, payment and any storage charges. The driver follows the release instructions you provide and records the car's condition before it leaves.

Questions from dealers

Before you post
your first run.

Can you collect from BCA or Manheim?

Yes. You can post a collection from BCA, Manheim or any other UK auction site. Add the site, the release reference and the collection window, and drivers quote on the run.

Can the auction be at the other end of the country?

Yes. Post the full route and drivers quote on it. Long runs mean the driver's journey back matters, so prices reflect the whole job.

Is MotorRelay part of an auction company?

No. MotorRelay is independent and isn't connected to BCA, Manheim or any other auction company. You follow the auction provider's release, payment, collection and storage rules.

What if the car isn't as described at collection?

The driver records the car's condition with photos before it moves. If it's unsafe or materially different, the issue is recorded on the run before it leaves the site.

What does it cost?

There's a £50 fee to post a run. Drivers quote their own price, and you pay the driver after delivery.
